Lovage (Ligusticum) Dried
Lovage (Ligusticum)
Lovage is a multipurpose pant widely grown in Europe. The leaves used as an herb, the roots as a vegetable, and the seeds for spice. Lovage has a scent reminiscent of celery when the skin is broken. No one is quite sure where Lovage originated. Many claim that it is native to Europe. Others insist that it is native to The middle east. Others still believe it came from Asia.
When cooking, Lovage is a common ingredient in soups and salads. Being used almost interchangeably with celery, different culinary traditions around the world make use of Lovage. The name "lovage" comes from ache (the medieval name for parsley).
Given it's name you might not be surprised that this herb is often used in love and relationship magic. Considered to inspire lovers with desire. This herb was often used in spells to acquire a husband and to attract a lover in general.
Used to make baths, teas, and tinctures.
