Full Moon in 24 degrees Leo
To start with, those most affected by this Full Moon in Leo will be those with their Sun, Moon or other Significant planets in the latter part of Leo, about 19 through 29 degrees or so. That means people with birthdays in Mid-August, say from about the 11th through the 20th or 21st when the Sun moves into Virgo. People with such placements in the squaring and opposing signs of Taurus, Scorpio and Aquarius will also be challenged for this Moon cycle. Everyone is affected by the Moon, though, so don't stop reading just because you don't have those particular features in your birth chart. Moon in 24 degrees Leo opposition Sun in 24 degrees Aquarius conjunct Mercury in 26 degrees Aquarius. Uranus in 23 Degrees of Taurus at the midpoint of a T-square, Square to both Sun-Mercury and Moon. Also Lilith in 25 degrees of Libra Trine Sun and Mercury and Sextile to Moon and Opposition to Chiron in 20 degrees of Aries.

A Full Moon in Leo means that emotions and the subconscious are concerned with the self, self interest, your own appearance or how you impact others, and how you fit in. There can be a sense of play or romance, too, but the key is expressing yourself and your feelings. Because of the opposing Aquarian Sun, the challenge is to allow this self-expression to be future- and growth-oriented, and not allow yourself to either swing into inflated egotism or to spiral into depression and self-doubt. Leo emotions often seek external validation or wallow in self-validation or self-recrimination. This time Mercury is conjunct with the Sun in Aquarius, so you might find it easy to talk yourself into or out of feelings or rationalize your desires. Lilith in Libra is at the Trine-Sextile point of the opposition, making it easy for folks to bring out hidden subconscious desires and repressed memories that may support your self-validation or aid your negative self-talk. Chiron in Aries in opposition to Lilith may lead you to reject the advice of a mentor or counselor with the thought of “I can do this on my own.Heed my own advice.” Uranus in Taurus at the square point of the opposition may challenge you with sudden realizations that shake your core beliefs.

Nothing in Astrology is good or bad, negative or positive. It is your own judgments and choices that determine that. A Leo Moon my invoke emotive drama and dreams yet you can choose whether to take those seriously or to relax and enjoy it. There is a playful side to Leo also. Perhaps with some inspiration and creative thinking from Mercury you can create romance and humor or simply enjoy the joke or the passion.

Saturn in 18 degrees of Pisces Trine to Mars (Rx) in 17 degrees of Cancer.
Mars Retrograde in Cancer is another kind of emotive drama to consider. As we've noted before, this may leave us with either an excess of emotion and drive to act upon it, or a lack of desire to do anything caring or nurturing. In Trine with Saturn in Pisces, though, we may feel like authority and/or tradition is on our side. Saturn usually provides discipline and restriction, so perhaps we feel it is right and proper to be a little confused or reluctant to commit energy to emotion or dreams (remember that Cancer is ruled by the Moon). This may restrict some rash, emotionally triggered and not-well-thought- out actions that Mars (our inner masculine warrior) might want.

Isolated Planets: Neptune in 28 degrees of Pisces conjunct North Moon Node in 29 degrees Pisces.Venus in 5 degrees of Aries. Jupiter in 11 degrees of Gemini. Pluto in 2 degrees of Aquarius. We may have the feeling that something is missing during this Moon cycle, because there are a bunch of planets that seem isolated and not well connected at this Full Moon. Neptune conjunct the North Moon Node in Pisces makes no connections to other planets, so I think we will miss the sense of destiny and connection to the Beyond that we have felt in our doings over the last few Cycles. Venus in Aries, with her creative spark and harmonious connections is also left by herself. Jupiter in Gemini cannot lend his expansive, growth oriented communication and understanding to us this time from more than an inconsistent connection like a badly tuned in radio station. Pluto in Aquarius with all the potential humanitarian changes he offers seems alone in his dark underworld for the time being. With no help from these planets, we might feel like we are left to our own devices, running on low power. As a more positive spin, this pattern is much less intense than recent cycles with all their challenges and energy and complexity, the demands on our energy and emotions lower.

Finally.....
A Leo Full Moon, although it has much to do with our self-expression and our own desires for recognition, also has to do with friends, family and community. Without the recent demands for transformation and change on many levels, we can take some time to relax, feel the warmth of the sun, and pursue some recreation with those we love. Valentine's Day is almost here, and Leo warmth and dramatic flair can make the holiday a great time to let our friends, lovers and families know how much we care and celebrate the community and support system around us. With nothing really happening outside except dreary cold, a warm drink by a warm hearth with the comfort of friends seems like a really good idea. Meet that challenge and don't let yourself spiral into harsh self-defeating talk in your head. No more Scrooge! The promise of February is that Spring is coming! And, as always, may you be blessed and may the stars guide you!
